A little bit about me & my journey
You’ll currently find me working 3 days a week in my corporate role while spending the rest of my week enjoying developing this coaching business as well as creating and selling artwork and spending time with wonderful four legged souls through dog sitting and walking.
I like to have choice and flexibility in my life and create time to spend in nature, adapting with the seasons and flow of the year and my life.
I’m a mother and wife, as well as being blessed with sharing our lovely home with our dog and bearded dragon. I am an artist (it took me a while to feel confident to say that!) and a creative, making bespoke handmade moon and abundance paper.
I have over 20 years of corporate management experience, 10 of those in senior roles. Through my personal journey I’ve made space for and taken the opportunity to reduce my working hours, rediscovered my artistic and creative talents, identified what lights me up and trained in NLP and coaching.
Along my unique journey I’ve experienced leaving home early, divorce, becoming a mum and step-mum, workplace and career challenges, and living with the reality of what happens when you don’t listen to your body and just keep going. I always rise and I’m thankful for everything leading to this point in my life, where I get to do more of what ‘lights me up’ and I hope to shine my little light brightly into the world.
My journey: For years I worked my way up through the ranks in my corporate career, alongside juggling motherhood and a blended family home life. I found myself ignoring all the signs of stress or ‘burn out’ such as developing anxiety and tinnitus, until (according to my doctor) my body/mind stopped giving me signs and I became ‘debilitated’. In reality this meant I didn’t know how to make a sandwich, I couldn’t walk 100 metres down the road, it was scary and a big wake up call There was no option, I had to take a couple of months off work to rest and recover, at that time with the aid of medication.
I’m happy to say I recovered from all apart from the tinnitus (which I have to this day, although it can be significantly low level for longer periods of time now). However, fast forward a few years and I suffered with anxiety and my tinnitus impacted every part of my life, I had to take another break. This second time around I took a cold, hard look at my life and realised I hadn’t changed anything regarding my work or home life, so I was expecting a different result from the same input. We all know what Einstein said about that! I spent my time off doing a lot of self development, understanding the importance of boundaries and recognising the need to change my work life balance and re-discover myself.
It was at this point, when I returned to work that I felt a calling for more, a different way to live in balance, doing more of what brings me joy.
Rediscovering my creative talents and taking time to understand my beliefs and values led me to coaching and NLP. This shift ignited a passion for helping others find their own paths and achieve their goals. I believe in the beauty of personal growth and the importance of aligning our goals with our true selves.
The outcome has seen me reduce my hours in my corporate role, giving me time to be out in nature, fueling my soul and inspiring my artwork. I’ve completed my ICF coaching qualification and become an NLP Master Practioner, creating Di Milne Coaching so that I can work in partnership with wonderful individuals like you, that feel the pull to discover, rise and achieve in your own unique way.
My approach to coaching is rooted in authenticity, empathy, and creativity. I value open communication and believe in building strong partnerships with my clients. By fostering a safe space, I encourage exploration and self-discovery. Together, let’s embrace your journey and unlock the incredible potential that lies within you!
A little bit about NLP….
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is ‘The study of the structure of subjective experience’. It was developed at the University of Santa Cruz by a team of researchers in the mid 1970’s and is a pragmatic approach to how the mind works, and concerns itself with how to use our mind to get results.
Studying NLP is to study the science and mechanics of our mental processes and programming, understanding how to change our mental processes and programming through techniques to improve our own mind power and success in life.
NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes.
